This week the Las Vegas Raiders have had a very eventful couple of days in their wide receiver room with some big changes in store for the teams future.
A New Home?

The first major news about the Raiders broke Monday when it was announced star WR Jakobi Meyers had requested a trade due to contract stallings. According to sources from ESPN the team has no interest in re-homing Meyers and will look to find a new resolution to the situation. As the start of the season approaches, however, they will need to move quickly to provide another weapon for an intriguing Raiders offense.
Mama I’m Coming Home

Cue the late, great Ozzy Osbourne (RIP) as the Raiders made another major headline by signing and bringing home Amari Cooper. Cooper, who started his career with the Raiders before stints with the Cowboys, Browns, and Bills will look to form a nice duo with fellow 30 + star Geno Smith. Despite his struggles last season with the Bills the Raiders are hoping they can find some solid receiver play to bolster their depth with or without the afformentioned Jakobi Meyers.
What this Means for the Team
The Raiders have had an eventful summer. They hired a new coach in Pete Carroll, brought in a new QB in Geno Smith, and drafted franchise RB Ashton Jeanty in this years draft. With their revamped offense and defensive stalwart Maxx Crosby they will certainly look to have a much improved season. To do this, however, they will need depth and good players (obviously) making the re-signing of Jakobi Meyers a top priority. Even with the signing of Amari Cooper giving Geno Smith as many weapons as possible will only help the team in the long run. They will need to get a deal soon, however, as the start of the season creeps ever closer.
